Promotion. Reaching the top 3 ranks promotes pieces to stronger forms (Dragon 竜 / Horse 馬 / +Silver / +Knight / +Lance / +Pawn). All promoted minor pieces move as Gold.
Win. Checkmate the King.
v1 note. Drops are not implemented. In real shogi, captured pieces become yours and may be dropped on any empty square as a future move. That mechanic will come in a future pass.
